Almost everyone has experienced it at one time or another. The symptoms range from that clicking noise produced by an otherwise functioning hard drive or a hard drive that is simply no longer being recognized by the computer. The results can be devastating to the end user no matter whether that user is an individual with treasured family photos or a corporation with no backup of its server. Many people assume when their data is lost it is gone forever. However, with care and in the right hands, in many cases the data is 100% recoverable.

The first thing one should always do is stop using the failed media because doing so can cause further damage to the media making recovery more difficult. Many people attempt things such as reformatting or repartitioning a hard drive in an attempt to continue using it. By continuing to use failed media, you will be jeopardizing the existing data you wish to recover.

The most crucial action you should take next is to contact a professional recovery company. These companies exist for a reason. They specialize in data recovery, and most have years of experience recovering data from failed media. Many of these companies offer clean room service, which is critical if the media needs to be opened for parts replacement. It only takes 0.5 micron of dust on the surface of a hard drive platter to cause permanent data loss.

Choosing a data recovery company should be done carefully. Beware of companies who charge a low flat fee compared to other companies. Data recovery can be expensive because of the tools and labor involved to recover data. There is no "easy fix" in most situations. Many times, a hard drive may need total parts replacement in a clean room using highly specialized equipment. For RAID recovery, there can be many labor hours involved in destriping the RAID in order for the data to make sense.

Data recovery is more successful when left in the hands of a professional data recovery company. Each case is different and falls into the category of physical or logical recovery with physical recovery being much more complicated. However, just because the data appears lost does not indicate it is permanently gone.
The BlackBerry Application Suite has been spotted at the 2009 Mobile World Congress. Dieter Bohn was able to get some awesome photos and information about the Application Suite running on the HTC Touch Pro.

Check out what he had to say:
In all, I was very impressed with BB Application Application Suite. It ran remarkably well — certainly better than the janky pre-release beta videos I’d seen to date. I tried to pin them down on a release date (they clammed up a bit when I said “CrackBerry.com”) and the best I could manage was “in the coming months.” One interesting note: BB Messenger does work and it does have a PIN. What RIM does is run some sort of fancy algorithm on your IMEI number and then creates the PIN off of that. So the bad news (or good news, depending your openness:security stance) is that PINs are still tied to specific pieces of hardware.

I do have to say that the BlackBerry experience is significantly hampered without a trackball — having to use the physical d-pad to click click click was a major pain. Otherwise, as I said, the thing ran relatively snappily and also didn’t seem to hamper Windows Mobile much at all. And get this: it seems to start from a cold launch in just under a minute, much faster than your average BlackBerry cold boot. :p
If you are someone who loves the BlackBerry’s OS but does not like the actual BlackBerry, this would be a good option for you once it is made available. Why someone wouldn’t like a BlackBerry is beyond me though .

HTC Touch Pro Bridges Mobile Work With Mobile Play

Advanced 3D Touch User Interface, Desktop-like browsing, 5-row sliding QWERTY Keyboard and Windows Mobile® 6.1 create hybrid business phone

Singapore – 26 August, 2008 – HTC Corp. (TAIEX: 2498; “HTC”), a global leader in mobile phone innovation and design, today unveiled its advanced next generation business phone, the HTC Touch Pro™. Bringing a beautiful new angle to mobile business productivity, the HTC Touch Pro utilizes similar styling and functionality of the highly anticipated Touch Diamond™ and introduces a variety of business-focused enhancements that make getting work done on the go quick and easy.

“The HTC Touch Pro and Touch Diamond have created a new generation of HTC touch devices that make the promise of the one-hand, one-touch mobile Internet a reality,” said Jack Tong, VP of HTC Asia. “HTC Touch Pro is for those customers that demand the ease of use and enjoyment of TouchFLO™ 3D and want the styling of the Touch Diamond but also need the powerful mobile business experience that HTC delivers.”

A New Dimension To Touch – One hand, one touch

HTC has taken a great leap forward in touch screen innovation with its 3D touch interface called TouchFLO 3D. TouchFLO 3D provides a stunningly intuitive way to zip through common tasks like messaging, calendar appointments or making calls with just one touch. Delve a little deeper to find that your music, photos, contacts and surfing the web are also responsive to the touch. In addition, the Touch Pro includes a new innovative touch-sensitive control for device interaction.

Making The Mobile Internet Useful and Fun

With the introduction of Touch Diamond and Touch Pro, HTC delivers an entirely new mobile Internet experience that utilizes broadband-like speeds with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and wireless connectivity. Committed to improving Web browsing, HTC provides a new customized mobile Web browser that enables easy viewing and effortless navigation of Websites in the way they are designed to be viewed on a PC. As part of this browsing experience users can zoom and pan Websites with one-hand and automatically view optimized content that has been specially created to fit the display. Turning the device sideways automatically rotates the web page view from a portrait to landscape view.

In addition to Web browsing, the Touch Pro includes an HTC-developed, YouTube application for watching a variety of user generated video content.

Unmatched Style With Complete Productivity
Like the Touch Diamond, Touch Pro is crafted with precision to fit comfortably in a user’s hand and brings together elegant touch screen response with the direct precision of HTC’s trademark sliding keyboard design. Introducing a new five-row QWERTY keyboard layout that makes typing-intensive tasks like composing email or working on Microsoft Office® documents quick and easy. Built-in TV-out functionality means users can deliver the perfect PowerPoint® presentation from the Touch Pro.

Bursting with Innovation
The Touch Pro delivers an unrivalled combination of features and functionality. The 2.8 inch display provides near-print quality viewing that enables beautiful Web browsing and viewing of photographs. The built-in camera includes an auto-focus lens that ensures the photos you take will be clear and consistent. Advanced wireless and auto sensor screen pivoting are just a few of the features that make the Touch Pro experience a stand out.

I hope you enjoyed Star Trek back in its days, or at least the more recent Stargate TV series, because I was crazy about them both. Needless to say it, Mass Effect was one of the best games I played in years, but it's not about games or TV series. So...why did I bother naming them? Well, it's pretty easy to figure it out - today, we're going to talk about the future iPhone, and since those games were heavily based on future events and technologies... there's a pretty tight connection between them and a future iPhone, don't you agree?
The story goes like this - according to AT&T Mobile chief Ralph de la Vega, "Before the iPhone wakes you up in the morning with its alarm clock, it will have already loaded all of your daily news feeds onto the phone. It will also have already sent a wireless message to your coffee maker to get the coffee ready. While you're sitting there drinking your coffee, you might decide that you'd rather read your news on the TV screen; so with a wave of the device toward the TV, you'll send your news feeds wirelessly from the phone to the TV for reading."
Pretty different to the iPhone 3G's capabilities, but not light years ahead, don't you think? Even more, maybe some of the iPhone's users don't like coffee...

Taking things a few steps further, de la Vega said the iPhone is going to turn into a universal remote, allowing you to start your car's engine, lock the door behind when you leave home, and so on. I guess I'll keep my old school keys, at least I know the geek next door can't hack his way into my private space!

At last, AT&T's chief said the company is working on improving its 3G signal quality in areas like New York City, intending to begin using a new swath of 850 MHz spectrum to achieve this goal. Well, that's more like it! After all, there are plenty of problems to be solved now, so better look at the present, instead of going too far into the future, right?

All sleek and fierce roadster is visually divided and its front end represents the powerful horses, whereas the relatively small back with big wheels represents the chariot itself. Also, the joint like solution in the middle is inspired by body armors of the warriors and front light opening follow the eye cut in warriors’ helmets. All these things together make this vehicle the read road warrior.

There's an App for just about anything you'd want to do on an iPhone. Just name it, and someone somewhere has probably made an application, jailbroken or otherwise, that will help you accomplish the task at hand.

The iPhone 5 release is inevitable within the next few years, and we can be sure that the hardware will make it better able to support a slew of new types of applications.

The above drawing shows all the wonderful features artist Dan Piraro expects from the upcoming iPhone. Sadly, if Pararo is right, Apple may forget to pack in the phone functionality to go with it.

On ZTE F870E introduction, the user can access Vodafone’s MTV music website and has a web site permits. It appears that the aircraft is likely to have Vodafone customized version, it should be able to see in the near future. There are pictures showed, ZTE F870E released by China Unicom.

In addition,ZTE F870E also supports FM radio, Bluetooth, E-mail and other functions, and powered by a 300W-pixel camera. But at the moment not yet released on the machine and price information.
BMW has revealed the future of its performance cars with a spectacularly styled concept that matches M3-rivalling performance to Mini levels of fuel economy.
The Vision Efficient Dynamics concept, which made its a public debut at this week's Frankfurt motor show, is a showcase for BMW's lightweight body construction, advanced hybrid-drive technology and new packaging and aerodynamic ideas.
Many of these features are under development at BMW's FIZ R&D base, and will be used on forthcoming BMW road cars, including a new range-topping sports car, the Z10 ED, which is due by around 2015.
The concept is roughly the size of a 3-series coupe, at 181 in. in length, 75 in. in width and 49 in. in height, but it demonstrates its supercar credentials with a considerably lower roofline. At the heart of the Vision Efficient Dynamics is a diesel-electric hybrid system. The engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter, three-cylinder powerplant that will be introduced in 2011 in the next 1-series. Other BMW models, including the next 3-series, will then adopt the motor.
With 163hp and 214lb ft of torque, the engine is more powerful than the latest and most economical version of BMW's existing 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbodiesel. It uses the Getrag seven-speed double-clutch gearbox that was introduced on the M3, albeit with new shift programs and unique ratios.
The diesel engine is supported by a pair of electric motors mounted at the front of the gearbox. One of them supplies drive to the rear wheels, the other powers the front wheels via a single-speed reduced-ratio transmission.
The rear motor has 34hp  and 214lb ft, although it can achieve 51hp for short bursts. The motor acting on the front wheels delivers 80bhp and 162lb ft, but can supply up to 139hp momentarily. Altogether, BMW's new diesel-electric hybrid system is rated at 356hp and 590lb ft.
This endows the 3,075-lb Vision Efficient Dynamics with a power-to-weight ratio of 255hp per ton, or just 7hp per ton below that of the current 414hp 4.0-liter V8 M3. It's not surprising, then, that it is claimed to go from 0-62mph in 4.8sec and on to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. Those figures match the M3's.
Fuel economy is much improved over the M3, though; the combined fuel consumption figure is 75.1mpg and CO2 emissions are just 99g/km; both figures are comparable to those of the Toyota Prius.

The batteries are charged by regenerative braking or by plugging the car into the mains; there's a socket located in the right front wing. When the car is hooked up to a standard 220V/16A system, overall recharge time is put at two and a half hours. At a higher 380V and 32A this is reduced to just 44 minutes. The battery pack, sited within the central chassis tunnel, weighs 187 lbs.
The car can run on electric power, its diesel engine or a combination of both. In pure electric mode the range is put at a modest 31 miles, but the diesel engine offers an additional 400 miles.
As well as highlighting technical developments that we can expect to see in showrooms within the next five years or so, the Vision Efficient Dynamics also adds a new energy-saving component: a thermo-electric generator in the exhaust system. Originally developed for use in spacecraft, the unit generates electricity when heated. That electricity is then used to power the steering, air-con and seat adjustment.
The suspension setup is aluminum-intensive double wishbones all round. It supports aerodynamically optimized wheels shod with low-resistance tires. Inside, the Vision Efficient Dynamics offers 2+2 seats and 150 liters of luggage space. Access to the cabin is via butterfly-style doors that extend along the side of the car.
A prominent center tunnel divides the plush leather-lined interior, which features a futuristic-looking dashboard and trim panels mirroring the layered surfacing approach taken with the car's exterior.
The Vision Efficient Dynamics also acts as a template for BMW's future design lineage.
The first car to be styled completely under BMW Group design boss Adrian van Hooydonk adopts a radical shape that doesn't provide a direct link to a single upcoming model, instead introducing ideas to influence future cars. Say goodbye to flame surfacing – and hello to layered surfacing. Since the X Coupe concept car in 2001, BMW design has been dictated by the flame surfacing theme introduced under Chris Bangle.
Now there's a successor – layered surfacing – initiated under new group design boss Adrian van Hooydonk. While emphasizing that flame surfacing is not consigning to the history books, BMW says, “It has been developed to enhance its effect further.”
The idea is to smooth the shutlines and joints within the body for what van Hooydonk describes as “a more cohesive and harmonious appearance.”
Body surfaces are layered on top of each other in a move that is also claimed to improve aerodynamic efficiency without the requirement for any additional body elements. “By using the structure of the surface without adding any appendages, we're able to optimize the airflow,” says van Hooydonk.
The prime examples, he says, are the A-pillars, which channel the airflow at the front in the same way as the wing-profile rear lights.
Van Hooydonk's team has attempted to instill visual lightness within the body of BMW's latest concept through the extensive use of glass, which covers a good expanse of the hood, roof, sides and trunk lid. Other forms of stylistic experimentation are evident in traditional BMW elements such as a re-interpreted kidney grille.
If you think of a vehicle good enough to carry Peugeot’s 2000 year long legacy forward, here it is. Conceptualized by the Polish designer, Piotr Czyzewski this car has been designed as a perfect vehicle to reflect brand’s essence and seems worth commercialization every bit. Dubbed the Peugeot Shine concept, the glamorous vehicle is a four seat coupe with its doors opening in opposing elytra, thus revealing the appealing interiors. The black beauty with all its doors open seems no less than a hawk on the road. Hit the jump to check out the images.

At the 2010 SEMA Show, Nissan has showcased the new Mobility concept (NMC) which is, as per the brand, a sustainable zero emission society as well as an Electric vehicle. There are assumptions that two-seater compact vehicle is essentially a re-badged Renault Twizy. The vehicle is aimed at seniors and bachelors who only drive short distances. With the same level of maneuverability as a bike, the vehicle has compact size and above all zero tailpipe emission. Powered hundred percent by electricity, it can be used as both a commuter car and a corporate car during business hours. Although Nissan has withheld the details of the vehicle yet it’s rumored to be propelled by an electric motor that develops 20hp and 57lb-ft of torque. This means, that vehicle is likely to have a range of 100km and a top speed of 75kg/h.
Press Release:
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a proposal for new mobility in a sustainable zero emission society and an electric vehicle (EV) embodying its proposal, ‘NISSAN New Mobility CONCEPT’.
Nissan continues to envision new possibilities realized by EVs. One proposal is a sustainable, efficient and convenient mode of transportation focusing on the increase of elderly and single households, as well as the trend of driving short-distances or in smaller groups. NISSAN New Mobility CONCEPT is our proposal to make this a reality.
Four keywords outline the NISSAN New Mobility CONCEPT:
Innovative – New two-seater compact mobility for various needs and occasions.
Easy – Size which enables anyone to drive and park easily
Safe – Maneuverability equivalent to motorbikes with greater safety
Clean – No emissions while driving.
NISSAN New Mobility Concept is an user-friendly, ultra-compact 100% electric vehicle with no emissions which is expected to be utilized in various situations in everyday life. Nissan will study the use of this vehicle for a variety of services, such as:
’seamless mobility service’, a highly efficient and convenient public transportation service linking public transportation and EVs supported by IT,
‘2-mode EV car sharing’, where the vehicle is used as a private commuter vehicle in the mornings and evenings, and as a corporate car during business hours, and, contributing to the revitalization of communities with improved mobility in both urban and tourist locations.

If you are like most other computer users, you have probably some time accidentally deleted some of the important data or documents from your computer. The good news if that there is data recovery software out there that is capable to recover the data you have lost, there is no reason to despair. Since data viruses have been a part of computer users' everyday life there are chances that a virus program would have deleted some of your important data from your system. Software used for recovering data is your assurance and functions pretty much the same way as an insurance policy.

There are lots of programs available in the market for recovering your lost files and for those files that were once rendered inaccessible. Data recovery software can

"undelete" files or information that have previously been deleted

recover any information lost after uncontrollable instances like virus attacks, power cut, software failures and more.

Since we all know how unpredictable technology can be, we must always be prepared for the worst scenario.

One of these recovery programs are called "GetDataBack". This is one of the most popular software for data recovery. It is one of the best selling pieces in the market today because of the frequency that people are losing valuable pieces of information and valuable files. This software functions easily, as do most other recovery software products, to recover entire drives. You can achieve this just by clicking a few buttons.

Are there data recovery services available?

There are also lots of data recovery services or so called "hotlines" that can be called to help assist you with recovery of some of your lost data. It is always helpful to have a little knowledge of your computer system because this helps you to describe the problem adequately to the customer service operator of the data recovery company and they can give you as much information as possible that is specific to your issue. If a drive of your computer was formatted or accidentally deleted by a virus or human error, a data recovery service can help you get your data back and restore your original settings in the computer.

Data recovery is defined as the process by which lost data is retrieved from a damaged or infected hard drive or any other piece of computer or electronic equipment. Computer users today use a special software for data recovery to get back the lost information from their personal computers, business computer systems, cellular phones, Blackberries, and any other electronic systems that store vital information. There are also cases where data simply disappears for no obvious reason at all. However, the software meant for data recovery can back the data to normal.

College credit cards are the credit cards that have been specially designed for college students. College credit cards are more popularly known as student credit cards. College credit cards allow the students to experience the benefits of credit cards much earlier in their life. Through college credit cards, the college students are able to learn more about credit cards and their use. In fact, for most of the students, their college credit card is their first credit card that acts as a gateway to the world of credit cards. Some other students might have previously used supplementary credit cards linked to their father's credit card account; however, for such students too, their college credit card is the first one that is truly theirs.

College credit cards are not very different from other types of credit cards in the basic sense; they function in the same way as any credit card would. However, there are some differences, which basically arise from the fact that college credit cards are used by people who have no prior experience with credit cards and who perhaps don't understand the concept of credit cards completely. Hence, the credit card supplier is at risk with issuing credit cards (college credit cards) to such people whom he is not sure about. Most of the students don't have a credit history either. In such a case, the supplier of college credit card cannot be sure of receiving the credit card bill payments in time (and even receiving them at all). To counter such risks, the supplier of college credit card requires the parent of the student to co-sign the college credit card application form as a guarantee.

Moreover, the credit limit on college credit cards is generally around $500-$1000 per month, which is lower than what it is for other credit cards (this credit limit is generally sufficient to fulfil the typical needs of a student). Another risk mitigation instrument used by the college credit card suppliers is the interest rate or APR. The APR on college credit cards is generally higher than that for other credit cards. Again, this is done to dissuade the students from overspending on their college credit card (and finally not being able to pay their credit card bills).

However, if we were to look at these impositions in a positive sense, we would find that these are actually in favour of the student (who is still getting trained to take on the real world of credit cards). Moreover, college credit cards also help the students in establishing a (good) credit history which is another important benefit that becomes handy when the student needs any type of loan at a later stage in his/her life.

So, college credit cards are really something that every student should consider going for.
