Buying a home is one of the great events in life and it can be an extremely happy time for those who are buying a new home for their first time. But with all the worries and concerns that may already be weighing upon a new homeowner in Frisco, the addition of the new home will only serve to increase the level of concern that one should feel for the protection of their new house and all their possessions within it.

The facts of the Northridge earthquake...

The earthquake occurred on January 17, 1994 at 4:31am. The earthquake lasted for 10-20 seconds but that didn't limit the damage in any substantial way because the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.7. This meant that the ground acceleration was measured at 1.7 g. Over 57 people were killed and another 8,700 people were injured. The total cost of the damage was estimated at $20 billion.

Start by assessing the area that you are going to use for your workout equipment. There are many people that do not give themselves enough room around the equipment that they are going to be using and put themselves in danger while they are exercising.

A new homeowner can do even more to protect their home by remembering in-house safety precautions that will help to mitigate the chances of incurring damage, such as remembering to practice quality fire safety. Fire safety in a home is an essential component for a new homeowner to protect their new home.

The I-5, the I-10, the California State Route 14 and the California State Route 118 were all closed because of structural failure or even collapse. Many old buildings in the area, that were not up to code, collapsed. The Northridge earthquake was a devastating disaster. The cleanup effort included civilians and public workers alike. The community joined together to ensure that they were able to clean up and save everything that they could. The community jointed together to ensure that the recovery effort went as smoothly as possible and people were able to get back to their normal life.

The number one source for house fires year after year is accidents that lead to fires in the kitchen. With all of the hot appliances, electricity, flammable products, food grease, and heat from the stove and oven, it is not difficult to see why the kitchen area of the home is typically responsible for fires igniting within the home.

The most important thing to do is have an affective evacuation plan for the earth quake itself and then the aftermath as well. In California many of the people started looting because they were in search of food and provisions. With much of the infrastructure down, California became a mess in a hurry. This is something that can be avoided by having a good 72 hour kit that can sustain you and your family and not make you go out in search of the necessities.
