In all countries, education would definitely play an important role in the life of any child because school would help all children be able to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge and skills that they would need in order to survive. However, in order for them to be able to enter the society, they would definitely need the skills from a good school that gives a quality learning experience. One of the problems with public education is that more often than not, it does not give that quality learning experience.

Now because the governments in most developing countries do not have enough funds to support the quality of these kinds of schools, they lessen the quality in order to address the quantity. Governments are pressured to put more students in school because they believe education is the key to a better economy. Their goal is to put as many poor children in school as possible.

Most governments believe that If a child can go to school, learn, and get good grades, that is already enough. He can at least graduate from high school, get himself a job, and be able to support himself. They believe that by doing this, these children will be able to contribute to the economy.

Although this is a very good and remarkable idea, the question is not how many students can fit in one school but how many students are getting good quality education. Now the first problem of most schools like this is that they lack teachers who would want to teach in that environment. Since the pay would be low, many teachers would not want to teach there.

The problem with this is that since the pay in these schools will not be sufficient enough, a lot of teachers would not want to teach there. For this reason, there is a ratio wherein the students would outnumber the teachers by an extremely huge amount. Also, teachers will definitely find it hard to be able to teach an extremely big number.

Now the ratio of teachers to students is one thing but the quality of the teachers is another. Because most teachers are not satisfied with the pay that public schools would give, most would decide to go to a private school instead. This means that the low quality teachers would most likely teach in the public schools.

Materials may also become a problem in these types of schools. As stated earlier, the government does not have the capability to fund these schools properly. This means that they cannot provide the proper books, school materials, and other supplies that the students will be needing.

Although there are many more problems with public education, these are some of the main ones that are yet to be tackled by a lot of developing countries. Yes it is true that going to a school would definitely make a difference in the lives of children everywhere. However, the question would be whether one would be going to a good school or not because quality will definitely beat quantity any day.
