The whole history of bullfighting in Spain is believed to start during the ancient days. Yet, the real beginning of the bullfighting is really hard to distinguish even if there were different evidence of several rituals that will involve different bulls in the ancient culture that have been around during the 1500 BC. It is also considered as a sport that began for the past one thousand years.

In the country of Spain, this has been referred to as a national sport and a tradition that is celebrated every one hundred years. However, bullfight has been an activity that activists will disapprove that contributed to less fame. Although this particular sport is slowly dying, it would pursue to represent and stand as a beautiful part of the tradition of the Spaniards.

Corridas has been a term that is used by individuals to call it. There are numerous enormous Spanish cities that may even offer a better arena for such events so that it may be convenient for anybody to make reservations. But, with the glamour and elegance that it may bring, this may also be violent and dangerous. It definitely amazed various travelers and motivated numerous people.

There was an old evidence that was found first in Spain that had proven that this particular sport is definitely related to their own culture. In the ancient times, all bulls were made an object of worship so many historians had concluded that this has been a kind of religious practice. Moreover, there are many people who think that this certain animal is really sacred.

In these Roman times, it is very common to see some animals fighting inside the arena. There are different facilities that were created just for various Roman cities. Similar to other Mediterranean countries, Romans also conquered Spain, which is the primary reason that this specific game is introduced to them.

This became very popular in the 18th century. Francesco Romero is generally called as the father of bullfighting. He was indeed very innovative and creative that he even developed his own fighting style. He even added some elements of drama like some red capes that became a symbol of bull fighting.

It remained to be a controversial practice even these days. There are different animal rights groups that are considering this to be cruel or bloody. They organized several campaigns or protests that are aiming to ban a bullfight event. Because of such, it was indeed banned in many Spanish regions.

Still, this activity would retain its fame in various regions and cities in Spain. There are multiple places that one may visit especially those who seem interested to learn things about such sport. La Maestranza is a great place that is found in the country where there is a very old arena that is intended for such activity.

The history of bullfighting in Spain has been very elegant for all foreigners and citizens that are staying in the country. They could have this as a mark of their ancient traditions because it gave them excellent experiences. This will also create their own identity that will be easier to remember. With this, they still manage to attract different people to visit their nation.
