The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival will have performances Sept. 3-5 at the Presidio’s Main Post Parade Ground Lawn (between Graham St & Keyes Ave). The festival will continue its run for another three weeks after the Labor Day weekend.
For families that want a break from the bustling city for a day, head across the Bay to the Walnut Creek Familyfest. This traditional Labor Day family festival is perfect for kids and those that are kids at heart. It features almost one hundred free activities and performances, rides, arts and crafts, and a diverse food court.
The Labor Day festival is being held at Heather Farms Park and will be open every day over the Labor Day weekend at 10:00 am. While this event is not free, a donation of canned food will grant you a mere $5 admission fee.
Jaunt off to the charming bayside town of Sausalito for the Sausalito Art Festival for part of your Labor Day weekend and you will not be disappointed. After all, the festival has been dubbed the #1 outdoor fine arts festival in all of America. Not only will it feature visual artists, the festivities will also include musical entertainment, which will be occurring throughout the day.
