It can be challenging to find places to study on a campus because there are so many distractions from other students and activities going on in various buildings. Where you study can also be contingent on what type of study habits and what you need in an ideal learning environment. For example a student needs it to be really quiet while they study. This may mean that they need to be completely away from people in order to study effectively. Others may prefer a lot of people around and just casually study while they eat lunch or sit in a student activity center.

Don't do a double major

Second, you should make sure that you figure out how you are going to find child care that is going to be dependable. You do not want to worry about where your child is going to go on a daily basis and having dependable child care is going to eliminate that stress. As you are looking through different day care options, you should be sure that you find something you are comfortable with. Take time to shop around and ask plenty of questions to the different day care centers that you are interested in. While you are researching your options, you may also want to talk to other single parents in the area. Other single parents may have had personal experience with different day cares and help you make a decision.

* Cafeteria/lounge: Other students may find that sitting in a public area around people but not directly interacting with them can be a good environment. In some cases all you need to do is read a book so you don't need the silence that you may need when mastering a problem on an assignment. Some people like to be around people so they can be more comfortable in this type of environment.

Fourth, try to spend time with your child doing activities that are also going to help with school. If your child is in school, you can sit down and do your homework together to ensure that you are able to spend quality time with your child and also get your homework done. Being able to get through school when you have children can feel impossible at times. Make sure that you are communicating well with your professors, your friends, your family, and your children to ensure you get through your schooling the best that you can.

It is also important to note that if you do a double major you may not have a chance to conduct research in your main field of study during your junior and senior years. You will also have a tough time fitting in any extracurricular activities. Another option might be doing a study abroad which would give you a different feel from your major and satisfy your studies elsewhere. This is good because you can still get college credit while you travel and you get to do something new that can still look good on a resume.
