Unusual news stories provide entertainment for a great number of people. There are plenty of odd tidbits to browse, whether one is looking in magazines, in newspapers, or on the Internet. From articles about bizarre criminal behavior, to stories about legalizing duck racing, there seems to be a never-ending supply of strange news articles to read.

The news item about ducks racing involves not the living variety, but plastic ducks, and it is a true story. In the United States, a law proposing the legalization of racing such objects has been introduced in at least one state. Raising money for assorted causes is one of the main reasons that people participate in events where plastic ducks are raced. Individuals who want to could legally buy raffle tickets to support various ducks, if such a law is passed.

In New York State, there is a weird news item about a neighborhood in which the aroma of skunks has recently been ever present. Skunks have allegedly been killed in a humane manner, and their bodies have then been stored at an old police station no longer being used for police activity. Officials in the city have stated that they will try to find a different location to store the skunks, until they might be safely incinerated.

Flood tunnels lying below Las Vegas are the topic of another odd tidbit. Individuals reside under the city, in tunnels that lie below local hotels. Unfortunately, an assortment of unpleasant factors, including floods, poisonous spiders, and offensive odors, beleaguer the people who stay in the below-ground passageways. Since they might otherwise be without homes, some of the individuals are willing to overlook such circumstances.

Bizarre criminals do not seem to be scarce, like the man who escaped from jail and then went with his girlfriend to court after his escape. Police were able to apprehend him, and it did not take a lot of time for them to discover his presence at the scene. The man perpetrated at least one crime, in addition to his original crime, in the time between escaping jail and being arrested again.

A man who was planning to steal gold from a museum obscured himself in an unusual manner. Instead of hiding in a vehicle or in a nearby building, the man donned a costume created to resemble moss. Because moss is found in the landscape outside of the museum, the individual thought he would be able to conceal himself from the view of museum employees. His plan was not successful, although the costume did, in fact, look like a blend of grass and moss.

One news item that has captured the interest of countless people concerns a young Chinese man who has a nose growing from the top part of his face. He was in an accident in which he sustained an injury to his original nose. Because of the nature of the injury, which resulted in infection, his doctors are helping him to grow a second nose as a resource for an upcoming reconstructive surgery.

Strange news articles seem likely to continue occurring, as long as humans endure as a race. Countless individuals do odd things, and the world in general is often a bizarre place. Some weird news items can be heartrending, but others are humorous and serve as welcome diversion from everyday routine.
