If it's almost time for your little girl's birthday, you're probably thinking about how to throw her a special birthday party. With so many fabulous princess parties in Middletown, it might be difficult to deal with the pressure of keeping up with the Joneses. However, you don't need to despair. It's really very easy to make your daughter's birthday party one neither she nor her friends will ever forget.

Set the mood by making sure the invitations are imaginative. They should create excitement and a sense of anticipation. A simple way to do this is to print them on a sheet of paper, roll them up, tie them with ribbon and seal them with wax. Then have them hand-delivered 'by royal order'. Another option is to construct a cardboard castle that requires the receiver to open its doors in order to read the message inside.

The decor is an important part to the success of the event too. If weather permits and you have a garden, turn the space into an enchanted forest. Twinkling lights, pieces of mirror hanging from trees, lots and lots of flowers and a chocolate fountain can do wonders to create a magic setting. Having the party outside will also make cleaning up afterwards a breeze.

The food is one of the most important parts of the party. Children will eat almost anything as long as it's presented in an enticing way. Therefore, make use of edible glitter, food coloring and cookie cutters to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. An easy theme for a cake is to have it in the shape of a castle.

Kids often love to dress up. Instead of letting them come dressed in costumes, ask them to wear simple, everyday clothes. Then buy pieces of fabric like tulle or something soft and shiny in different colors, have elastic bands and safety pins handy and let the guests design their own outfits. Accessories like costume jewelry are important to have on hand too. In this way you keep the children occupied and encourage them to be creative while eliminating the risk of someone else wearing a better outfit than the birthday girl.

For an indoor event, it's probably a good idea to have more subdued activities such as a movie or story-telling hour or craft activities. A professional children's entertainer is a good investment too but instead of hiring a clown, hire a 'court jester' instead. Someone dressed as a popular princess can be a hit too. For outside, you may want to consider a 'royal' treasure hunt or even a maze.

Some girls simply won't let themselves be dressed in pink frills. If you don't want to perpetuate the stereotype that all little girls should dress up and look cute, you may want to encourage some brain activity too. Have a 'Star Wars' theme where the kids can dress as Princess Leia but also as Han Solo if they want to and let them create an obstacle course through 'outer space'.

If it still sounds like too much stress to organize a party all by yourself, get a party planner to help. Several businesses have organized countless princess parties in Middletown and can arrange the perfect one for you too. They offer different packages to suit your budget and can design a custom-made event especially for your girl.
