At the 2010 SEMA Show, Nissan has showcased the new Mobility concept (NMC) which is, as per the brand, a sustainable zero emission society as well as an Electric vehicle. There are assumptions that two-seater compact vehicle is essentially a re-badged Renault Twizy. The vehicle is aimed at seniors and bachelors who only drive short distances. With the same level of maneuverability as a bike, the vehicle has compact size and above all zero tailpipe emission. Powered hundred percent by electricity, it can be used as both a commuter car and a corporate car during business hours. Although Nissan has withheld the details of the vehicle yet it’s rumored to be propelled by an electric motor that develops 20hp and 57lb-ft of torque. This means, that vehicle is likely to have a range of 100km and a top speed of 75kg/h.

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a proposal for new mobility in a sustainable zero emission society and an electric vehicle (EV) embodying its proposal, ‘NISSAN New Mobility CONCEPT’.
Nissan continues to envision new possibilities realized by EVs. One proposal is a sustainable, efficient and convenient mode of transportation focusing on the increase of elderly and single households, as well as the trend of driving short-distances or in smaller groups. NISSAN New Mobility CONCEPT is our proposal to make this a reality.
Four keywords outline the NISSAN New Mobility CONCEPT:
Innovative – New two-seater compact mobility for various needs and occasions.
Easy – Size which enables anyone to drive and park easily
Safe – Maneuverability equivalent to motorbikes with greater safety
Clean – No emissions while driving.
NISSAN New Mobility Concept is an user-friendly, ultra-compact 100% electric vehicle with no emissions which is expected to be utilized in various situations in everyday life. Nissan will study the use of this vehicle for a variety of services, such as:
’seamless mobility service’, a highly efficient and convenient public transportation service linking public transportation and EVs supported by IT,
‘2-mode EV car sharing’, where the vehicle is used as a private commuter vehicle in the mornings and evenings, and as a corporate car during business hours, and, contributing to the revitalization of communities with improved mobility in both urban and tourist locations.
Aiming to be a global leader in zero-emission mobility with Alliance partner Renault, Nissan will launch Nissan LEAF, the first 100% electric, mass-marketed, zero-emission car in December 2010 in Japan and the United States, and in early 2011 in Europe. In addition to the development and production of EVs, Nissan is taking a comprehensive approach to promote sustainable mobility. This includes Nissan’s engagement with more than 80 zero-emission partnerships worldwide with countries, cities, organizations and other key stakeholders, the deployment of charging infrastructure, second-life use of lithium-ion batteries in EVs and the promotion of recycling parts used in vehicle production.
Designer Andrei Avarvarii has a vision for a smooth, voluptuous Lamborghini, the very opposite of the very sharp, origami-style of the Lamborghini Reventon. The challenge in creating this new Lamborghini “Minotauro” lies in not only staying within the strong identity system of the Lambo line, but also in making the vehicle electric! The challenge of course isn’t creating an electric car. We’ve had electric cars for years now. Nay! The challenge lies in convincing the consumer that not only is it cool to drive an electric car, it’s doubly cool to drive an electric supercar!
 Equipped with four asynchronous motors that divide the power 70% to the rear and 30% to the front axle. The car’s electricity is supplied by a Li-Tec flatcell battery pack located in the rear, doubled by a KERS system in the front. In the back, where the gigantic engine would normally be, there’s a third seat for the person who goes along for the ride, yelling and screaming because you’re going so extremely fast. Access to this back seat is provided by the extra-long “Lambo door” on the passenger side. Triangular shaped air extakes in the back serve as cooling for the battery. As an added bonus, they also channel the sound of the electric motors behind them, blasting it like subwoofers.
While highlighting its three green vehicle models at the Shanghai Expo, General Motors announced that it considers Korea as a follow-up market for the world’s first mass-produced plug-in electric vehicle Chevrolet Volt. You could see the carmaker releasing the Volt in the U.S. next month.

The T-shaped Chevrolet Volt is a 4-seater, and it relies on electricity for gathering the needed energy. The other two vehicles include the Equinox, which uses a next-generation fuel cell system, and the EN-V, which is a two-seater electric concept car. GM featured these demos at its Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, which has as its slogan “Drive to 2030.”
As the electric and fuel efficient cars are replacing their gas guzzling counterparts at an increasing pace, US designer, Nikita Kalinin, envisions an all electric Mercedes-Benz EL500 Luxury Sedan for the future. The emission free Mercedes sedan features a long wheelbase with coupe proportions and its overall size gives a spectacular presence on the road.

The EL500 electric Luxury Sedan concept is equipped with all electric drive twin battery system. It has Li-Ion permanent battery upfront and quick swap cartridge battery at the rear end that power 2 silent high torque motors mated to the corresponding compact CVT transaxles. It’ll come compatible with smart gird and will give 300miles combined battery charge.
 Apart from being emission free, EL500 Luxury Sedan blends eco friendliness with luxury. All its aspects are maximized for comfort and relaxation. Its rear single seat zone provides the all the amenities similar to flying in first class. The amenities include bar, internet bed, seat climate and privacy control etc. Also, special attention has been paid to reduce the chassis, suspension and drivetrain noise.
The other prominent features of the vehicle include, large front grill with horizontal slits, rear overhang longer than the front, solid wide stance and dual headlights lenses is the embodiment of Mercedes trait. The rear end design, however is influenced by the interior package as there is only the single seat at the rear so it needs window access, as a result they are pulled closer in, thus creating very strong shoulders in the back.
The IKONE is a concept three-wheeled vehicle designed by Karim Guelmi, a Montreal-based graduate from the University of Quebec in Montreal. The concept has been designed in collaboration with the Montreal-based company Fun-E Cycles. The one-seater vehicle is a vision of an eco-friendly society where humans could make use of alternative fuels for commuting.
The concept vehicle has 18.5-liters of storage space above the rear wheel. The design and strong DNA of the vehicle evokes lightness and fluidity as well as a symbiotic relationship between the rider and the ride. The IKONE has been thought with the necessity to reduce its parts to a minimum, which further reduces the production costs. The electric engines of the vehicle have been designed to be powered by lithium batteries.
Industrial designer Andrew Browder has proposed an urban transportation system that can be utilized on the highways as well as the waterways. Christened the Project Omega, the urban transportation system intends to transport you from point A to point B faster and more efficiently.
The vehicle, which has been designed for BMW, is powered by electric motors that have been integrated into the wheels. The wheels also harvest kinetic energy to top up the onboard battery of the car while on the move. When the highways are clogged, the user will be able to attach the vehicle with a catamaran platform that has been made from bio plastic.
When attached, the vehicle’s motors serve as the propulsion system for the catamaran, allowing the driver to utilize the waterway as a natural highway.
With increasing pollution and messy traffic jams, cities despite of their glittering life are losing charm as an ultimate abode for common men worldwide. In an attempt to improve city commutation, Tanzanian designer Walter Robert has developed a future taxi system named the “Renault Runner” that makes most out of renewable sources of energy to sustain the urban environment and make cities a better place to live. Featuring transparent solar panel windows to harness solar power and provide panoramic view of the surroundings, the urban taxi also saves space by conjoining to each other and forming a train. The Runner Train can connect up to three cabins with secure wireless commands. Running on multi-level hubless dynamo wheels, the Renault Runner also includes a power converter to accumulate kinetic energy as an added source of power, while intelligent LED lights make it an entirely zero-emission vehicle.

Fuel economy, nil emissions, use of green materials, and state-of-the-art design: you just name any of these features, and you will find them all in the Toyota NORI concept car. Recently showcased at the LA Auto Show’s 2010 Design Challenge, the concept car contains several solar cells within its PODULAR form to capture and generate supplemental solar energy for the 4-wheel motor.
Contrary to current generation automobiles, the NORI concept features a Podular form that plaits the body and chassis into a single entity, and helps in reducing the overall body weight. The next-gen car, conceived by Craig Kember, Erwin Lui, and Kevin Hunter, makes profuse use of bioplastics technology for strength that uses “nori” (the Japanese word for seaweed) and a carbon fiber weave.
Designer Michael Scherger has designed a special car that will potentially launch for the year 2015. This Audi RH vehicle has been created in association with Audi, and is a compact and lightweight auto made for maximum efficiency.
 The car features a very narrow interior design with the driver’s seat in the middle and the passenger seat immediately behind. There are not many technical specifications on the car as of yet, but with this unusual body design, the Audi RH is undeniably futuristic.
