There are few classes that can tone your body better than a dance class. Dancing is a routine that workout muscles that are rarely used in sports and other exercises. In addition, it helps to tone the body muscles and skin to an even tone. Sports and high impact exercises result in bulgy muscles which are not appealing to all people. From the onset, participants are taught how to improve their posture, body balance and move gracefully.

Regular performance of this routine helps to sharpen the minds of the student and improve their focus. In order to be able to perform, a student has to keenly observe and mimic the movements of the teacher. Such keen focus may be embedded into the nature of the child and become a strong virtue. At the preschool level, emphasis is laid on having fun, defeating shyness and developing an identity for each child.

One of the prime health benefits of dance is its role as a stress reliever. Scientists assert that there is a close relationship between stress and chronic pain. As such, relieving stress and depression is a sure way to prevent body pain. The graceful body movements performed in this dance help relieve emotional and physical stress. Participating in a fun filled exercise helps to melt away the worries and cares of the world.

Participating in a dance class is an opportunity for children to express themselves. It is a form of creative expression of our minds and emotions. In execution of the moves, children learn to embrace and shape their individual identities. This helps to boost self esteem and confidence. It has been observed that children who could once not stop hiding behind their parents garner enough confidence to perform in front of humongous crowds.

The dance has a deep history that spans several centuries in France, Russia and some European countries. By participating in the classes, children get the chance to understand and enjoy foreign cultures. There is culture in the music, dancing styles and clothes worn during performance. Sampling different cultures allows children to have an open mind and accept people from diverse cultural background.

In the class setting, children get the chance to socialize and know each other. The environment is fun and not as competitive as in other sports. Participants are able to meet and make life long bonds with other students as well as instructors. The dance is also an avenue to discover other talents such as singing, acrobatics and art.

There is no age or gender restriction for Pittsburgh Ballet. All interested parties can join and take part in the fun activities. The exercise not only improves your physical and emotional health, but also makes you a happier individual.
